The term artificial intelligence was apparently coined by American computer scientist John McCarthy in 1955. Kathryn disagrees with the concept of “AI”, but the term has spread like semantic wildfire, hence its reference here. Her beliefs align more closely with the views of German-American computer scientist and professor Joseph Weizenbaum—you can read more about him via this article on MIT News.
